Presenting PHS solutions at CHS2 2019 in Luleå (Sweden)

ArcelorMittal will be represented at the 7th International Conference on Hot Sheet Metal Forming of High-Performance Steel (CHS2) to be held in Luleå (Sweden) from 2-5 June 2019. Several speakers from ArcelorMittal Global R&D will present papers during the event.

The papers cover a range of topics including:

  • Hydrogen embrittlement resistance of AlSi-coated 1.8 GPa press hardened steel (PHS) solutions for body-in-white (BIW) applications (3 June at 13:00)
  • Improving spot weld strength by optimizing welding parameters on 1.8 GPa PHS (4 June at 8:40)
  • Use of AlSiZnMg hot dip coatings for PHS (4 June at 13:00)
  • Loading rate effects on apparent bendability of 1.8 GPa PHS (5 June at 9:20)

The presentations will highlight different forming, joining, and coating techniques for ArcelorMittal’s comprehensive range of PHS automotive solutions. These steels, including the Usibor® and Ductibor® ranges, are ideal for hot stamping and enable OEMs to achieve excellent weight reductions across the vehicle.
