A long track record of excellence
Since the start of its operations, the plant has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of management, as well as to the values of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development promoted by ArcelorMittal. In 2016, Tailored Blanks Zaragoza received the Corporate Social Responsibility Award from the Town of Pedrola and the Aragón Social Responsibility Seal (RSA) from the regional government. The two accolades are a testament to the plant’s firm commitment to integrate Social Responsibility in the company’s strategy and to its engagement towards society.
In 2017, ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks Zaragoza was recognised with the 2017 Aragón Business Excellence Award, in the “large companies” category. This award forms part of the regional government’s Plan for Business Excellence, designed to support business organisations in their actions aimed at achieving excellence.
In the field of management, in 2016 the plant achieved Gold level in World Class Manufacturing (WCM), the benchmark management system in the industrial sector, based on continuous improvement in a number of key areas including Safety, Productivity, Quality, Customer Service, Costs and Motivation, among others. This management model comprises four levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold and World Class), and Tailored Blanks Zaragoza is the only plant in ArcelorMittal to have achieved the Gold level.
In 2015, Tailored Blanks Zaragoza became the first organisation in the Mining and Metals sector to obtain the Healthy Workplace certificate granted by AENOR, the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification. This certification recognises that the company has implemented the Healthy Workplace Model, a Management System that promotes and protects the health, well-being and safety of the employees, as well as the sustainability of the workplace environment.
