FARO The International Commodities Club is the organization that manages and promotes cultural and educational activities for Italian and foreign entrepreneurs and managers. It offers a unique experience made by high-level contents and individual relationships, bringing together experts from the industry and finance worlds with the aim to analyze market trends, particularly metals.
On 10-11 March 2016, they invited ArcelorMittal's Vincenzo Lanteri, Global Account Manager for the FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Group, to represent steel at a round table on the state of the competition between steel, aluminium, magnesium, carbon and other materials. The venue was held at the prestigious Museo Ferrari in Maranello, Italy.
In the presence of delegates from the FCA group and from the aluminium industry, Vincenzo presented ArcelorMittal's strategy to help automotive industry meet its challenges in the short term as well as in the long term. He insisted that ArcelorMittal does not only supply steel, but is also a global provider of highly engineered weight and cost-saving solutions.
In his speech,Ph.D. Fabio D’Aiuto, FCA Europe’s Head of Metallic Materials Engineering (CRF), confirmed that steel will remain the material of choice for mass production and alternative materials are considered for luxury and sport segments.
