ArcelorMittal presenting at NeMMo conference on 6 and 7 July 2020 in Nantes (France)

At NeMMo, ArcelorMittal experts will present its latest progress about sustainability and decarbonization as well as its efficient steel solutions like ArcelorMittal Multi Part Integration™, our Tailored Blanks mega part applications to simplify car manufacturing. SIA, the French Society of Automotive Engineers, has joined forces with SFIP (the French Society of Plastic Engineers) to bring material experts together at NeMMO, the new, annual international congress about New Materials for Future Mobility.

This congress will initiate a large debate between specialists from the automotive world and material experts’ communities: metallic and plastic raw materials suppliers, tiers-N suppliers, plastics processors and converters, machine and tooling manufacturers, car manufacturers (OEM) & global mobility manufacturers (rail, aeronautics, nautical….), softwares simulation developers, multi-material assembly technologies providers, materials recyclers, academic research laboratories.

The main objectives of NeMMo:

  • Figure out metallic & polymer-based lightweighting, safety and sustainability requirements
  • Address sustainability and circular economy topics along the entire value chain
  • Highlight innovative product, application, and manufacturing achievements
  • Secure electrified vehicles performance & competitiveness

Frédéric Painchault, Gilson Donya, Vincent Barelli - the ArcelorMittal speakers at NeMMo - will focus on efficient lightweight steel solutions and on sustainability.

ArcelorMittal topics presented at the NeMMo conference:

  • Low carbon steel as driver for decarbonized sustainable mobility – by Frédéric Painchault
  • Cost effective central underbody optimization for BEV using new steel grades generation – by Gilson Donya
  • ArcelorMittal Multi Part Integration™ - a new approach for simplified and optimized body structures using breakthrough laser welded blanks & patch solutions – by Vincent Barelli

“Last year, the COVID changed our agendas and forced us to rethink our events. On October 2020 we were supposed to have our 2nd edition of the SFIP-SIA Polymers for Future Mobility Congress but instead of postponing it, we decided to merge it with the SIA Multimaterials for Lightweighting congress. It ends up in a digital edition that met a great success with more than 200 participants. After this first experience, the SIA and its long-time partner SFIP decided to create a unique annual meeting for Materials Experts Communities.”

Martin Pierrelée, SIA
