As environmental regulations across the EU become more stringent, automakers need to find ways to meet efficiency and sustainability targets while maintaining – and enhancing – the strength and safety of their vehicles. During the fourth annual ‘Understanding the 2028 Intelligence Vehicle’ conference, industry experts will examine how new battery technologies and lightweight materials can help OEMs achieve these goals. ArcelorMittal's Paul Brettnacher will be a special guest on the conference’s Industrial Panel.
Among the experts at this conference will be Paul Brettnacher, Chief Marketing Officer – Automotive and Packaging for ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products. Paul started at ArcelorMittal in 2001 as a Customer Technical Support engineer. Since then, his career has evolved to include different technical, commercial, and leadership roles related to the automotive market. Paul took up his current position in 2019.
Paul Brettnacher will be a special guest on the conference’s Industrial Panel. He will also present a paper outlining ArcelorMittal’s wide range of automotive steels and how they contribute to significant CO2 reductions. The value of these steels has already been proven through a series of S-in motion® demonstration projects which have achieved significant weight savings in a wide range of vehicle types and specific components.
Paul will also outline how ArcelorMittal’s iCARe® family of non-grain oriented electrical grades can contribute to maximising the efficiency of electrical machines and extend the range of electrical vehicles. These innovative steels were launched in 2012 and are constantly adapted to changing needs of automotive.
Another key area of focus in Paul’s presentation will be ArcelorMittal’s initiatives to make the steelmaking process more environmentally responsible. These include XCarbTM which brings together ArcelorMittal’s emission reduction projects and make carbon-neutral steelmaking a reality.
The fourth annual Understanding the 2028 Intelligence Vehicle conference will be held virtually on Friday 3 September 2021 from 9.00 to 13.30. The Industrial Panel segment will run from 12.00 noon. ArcelorMittal’s automotive customers are invited to attend.
