Meet ArcelorMittal at CWIEME 2023

As one of the leading suppliers of electrical steels in Europe, ArcelorMittal will again be present at the Coil Winding Expo (CWIEME) to be held in Berlin (Germany) from 23 to 25 May 2023. You will find the ArcelorMittal team at stand A11-B10 in Hall 2.2. They will outline how ArcelorMittal is helping to shape the future of e-mobility and the transition to more sustainable energy generation.

Tripling electrical steel capacity

A key area of interest for everyone involved in the electrical steels sector is ArcelorMittal’s investment in new production lines in Mardyck (France).

"When it comes onstream in 2024, Mardyck will triple ArcelorMittal’s capacity for electrical steel production. The investment complements ArcelorMittal’s existing electrical steel production site at Saint-Chély-d’Apcher (France). Mardyck will provide the additional capacity that Europe needs as the region transitions to more sustainable mobility and energy independence.”

Widest range on market

ArcelorMittal will also showcase our extensive range of electrical steels for both automotive and industrial (non-automotive) applications.

“We made a point to showcase both the automotove and the energy product lines at our booth at CWIEME 2023 and are looking forward to showcase our specific electrical steel products, solutions and service offer to a broad audience. ArcelorMittal’s key electrical steel personnel including our technical, sales, R&D, and marketing teams will be available to help customers identify the right solution for their electrical application.

Full offer for industry

ArcelorMittal's product range for general industry applications includes a broad spectrum of steel grades with specific magnetic properties. These include fully and semi-process non-oriented grades as well as steels for pole sheets.

ArcelorMittal can also provide fully processed electrical steel grades for industry with high strength or high permeability. The steel substrates can be provided with a wide range of coatings for different applications.

iCARe® offer for e-mobility a key focus

For mobility applications, ArcelorMittal has developed the iCARe® range of electrical steels. The range includes four electrical steel families with specific properties:

  1. iCARe® Save – ensures very low losses
  2. iCARe® 420 Save – with improved and guaranteed yield strength without affecting its magnetic properties for traction motor applications
  3. iCARe® Torque – offers the highest levels of mechanical power output or current supply for a generator
  4. iCARe® Speed – ideal for compact, high-speed rotors with higher power density

Electrical steel services

To help our customers get the most out of our electrical steels, ArcelorMittal provides a range of services including:

  • Modelling to help choose the right electrical steel for each application
  • Prototyping support to prove the machine’s performance
  • Material handling advice and support to maximise the in-use properties of our electrical steels

The ArcelorMittal electrical steels team looks forward to meeting you in Berlin and discussing your next projects.
