Live webinar: Thursday 10th November - 14:00 GMT / 15:00 CET / 9:00 EST / 6:00 PST
In this webinar we discuss how the properties of 2nd generation Press Hardened steels can bring robust solutions to cope with the severe conditions of the side pole test from the EuroNCAP protocol.
To meet tailpipe emission regulations, car manufacturers are extending their Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) offering and developing dedicated new platforms. However, the crash management of BEVs is particularly challenging with more energy to absorb due to the extra weight of the battery. To keep the vehicle occupants safe, ArcelorMittal’s steel solutions help to ensure the battery pack is well-protected, so that fire and explosions are avoided.
ArcelorMittal has now studied these challenges in a generic S-in motion® engineering project focused on BEVs. The central unit parts like rockers and seat cross-members are key to keeping the integrity of the HV battery and to ensure the safety of the passengers.
