ArcelorMittal presents S-in motion® LCA methodology at Material in Car Body Engineering

During Materials in Car Body Engineering 2019 conference, ArcelorMittal Global R&D will present a paper on the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology used to assess ArcelorMittal’s S‑in motion® solutions. ArcelorMittal has developed several S‑in motion® projects which are helping carmakers to create lighter, safer, and more environmentally friendly vehicles.

The LCA study done by ArcelorMittal characterises the environmental performance of lighter steel solutions against those used in a baseline vehicle. The assessment covers the full lifecycle of the vehicle – from metal production, to use, and end-of-life recycling.

The paper will be presented by Julio L Rivera, a researcher at ArcelorMittal Global R&D in France, LCA specialist and member of the sustainability team. Anne-Laure Hettinger, head of sustainability at ArcelorMittal Global R&D, co-authored the paper.

Julio’s presentation will take place in Bad Nauheim (Germany) on Wednesday 15 May 2019 at 15h15. All participants at Materials in Car Body Engineering 2019 are welcome to attend.
