Fast Lane: ArcelorMittal’s sampling and pre-serial production service

Fast Lane completes ArcelorMittal’s comprehensive service offer for carmakers. This service offer ranges from advanced projects at the start of the car design cycle, and covers detailed information about material properties, material data cards, digital simulation support, generic steel solutions, life cycle analysis (LCA) and other added value services which continue through to serial production.

With Fast Lane, customers can receive material with short lead time to support new vehicle development phases. This offer includes provision of product samples, pre-serial production services, prototyping support, and the backup of ArcelorMittal’s dedicated team.

Fast Lane offers OEMs state-of-the art technology and a dedicated supply of samples and small volumes of ArcelorMittal’s automotive steels from our European mills. We can supply almost every material in ArcelorMittal’s automotive catalogue in a wide range of formats and dimensions.

Close cooperation between the mills in the ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products network and ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions is key to the success of Fast Lane. Together we can quickly provide material to meet to customer requests.

The material can be used for:

• Product validation: material approvals, tests to validate product behaviour such as formability (stamping, bending, roll forming), joining (welding, bonding) and in-use properties (crash behaviour, fatigue)
• Prototyping: production of first batch of parts, test of different configurations and designs
• Pre-serial production: support to manufacturing of tools, set-up of cutting and stamping tools
• Production of small batch of parts: spare parts or end-of-life formats

The Fast Lane team maintain a large and dedicated stock of materials from our Automotive catalogue. The stock is updated on a regular basis. This saves customers precious time during project development. 

Material can be supplied in the shapes, dimensions, and quantities you require. Available formats include:

While the material is produced in Europe, the Fast Lane team can deliver it anywhere in the world. Shipping time depends on the delivery option selected. You can choose from standard or express courier delivery.

The steel you need can be delivered at very short notice, depending on stock. Delivery times will be confirmed when your purchase order is received by our team. The material is carefully packed to ensure your steel arrives in perfect condition.
